Students and Graduates

Positions

Oceania Equity is uniquely positioned to give current students and new graduates the opportunity to take their theoretical learnings and implement them practically in a real and tangible business, and see the results of their actions in real time.

As a Business Analyst Intern or Graduate, focusing on Special Projects, you will be responsible for delivering short term projects that have been identified as potential growth areas for businesses within our portfolio. The learning curve will be steep as success in the role will require multi faceted knowledge of business. The position will be very hands on.

Interns

Oceania Equity offers part-time internships for students while they are completing their studies. Students are expected to work full time during semester breaks to maximise their learning and development. Internship responsibilities vary based on the team you’ll be working with.

The internship will have a strong focus on real deliverables, accountabilities and responsibilities, to best prepare the intern for a career in a competitive market. Successful candidates will be paired with a senior level mentor from Oceania Equity with whom they can interact daily.

The first week of the internship will be on the job training to familiarise the intern with the specifics of the sponsoring business. This training will cover the fundamentals of business, IE: Sales & Marketing, Finance, Operations and Human Resources. After the first week of training, the intern will be presented with a special project pipeline and be given the choice of their first special project.

Graduates

Graduate roles are open to students that have completed their university degree and are looking to fast track their career. During the 12 month program you will be given exposure to all functions of the business including sales, marketing, operations, finance, procurement, research and development and human resources. You will also have the opportunity to work on projects across all of the businesses in our portfolio, including the businesses based outside Australia.

Graduates are given the opportunity to participate in our structured development program that includes access to both junior and senior level mentors. The Oceania Equity program is unique as our graduates have the flexibility to select their projects from the special projects pipeline and are encouraged to use their initiative and problem solving abilities.

Benefits

Intern and graduate positions with Oceania Equity give individuals the rare opportunity to see the results of their actions. This is a critical benefit to someone just starting their career as it provides real time learning, real time feedback, and the potential to achieve short term wins.

Other specific benefits include:

A true holistic experience – internships commonly focus on one small fraction of a business, ranging from accounts receivable to SEO marketing. This internship allows you to see all business functions and get a true understanding of how they interconnect.

Real ownership for the real world – after the first week of familiarisation training, there will be no looking over someone’s shoulder. You will own the projects, and if they are delivered successfully, own the win.

Requirements

For interns, successful candidates will be continuing their studies on a full-time basis and be expecting to graduate by December 2022. Interns work at least 20 hours a week, with flexibility to accomodate for university assessment deadlines.

For graduates, successful candidates will have recently completed a relevant degree OR be expecting to graduate by December 2021.

All candidates will be driven by the desire to learn new skills and therefore have a strong ability to use the tools available to self educate and solve problems. This is a real opportunity to get out what is put in, the opportunities made available at the end of the internship and graduate program will be a result of the effort that is put in.

Application Process

Applicants will be reviewed on an ongoing basis so please submit your application as soon as possible. Please forward a copy of your resume and a cover letter to [email protected]

Responses will then be reviewed and shortlisted applicants will be contacted with details to complete an online assessment. Candidates who are successful in the online assessment will then be invited for an interview.
